The Snider Investment Method® is a long-term strategy designed to create income off your portfolio. It uses a combination of stock, options and cash, along with specific techniques applied in a specific sequence, to achieve these goals.
Objectives
The Snider Method has two objectives:
- No permanent loss of capital. The Snider Method has you buy fundamentally sound companies you would be willing to own for long periods of time, even if the price declines. Although the value of your portfolio will experience declines, the rules of the Snider Method never have you sell stock at a loss. The Snider Method also takes several steps to minimize the risk of one of the stocks in your portfolio going bankrupt.
- Consistent monthly cash flow. The goal is to generate a monthly cash flow as close to 1 percent of your total investment as possible.

Why cash flow
Most traditional investments are based on the concept of capital appreciation. You buy assets, such as shares of stock, and hope that they appreciate in value so you can sell them later for a profit. Cash-flow investing works differently. With cash flow, you buy an asset not for its future value but for its ability to generate income. This income gives you flexibility: You can spend it if you want to, or your can reinvest it. Cash flow reinvested is compounding growth.
Do-it-yourself
We believe that you alone are ultimately responsible for the state of your investments. That’s why the Snider Method was designed to be simple enough that you can make all the necessary moves yourself, in your own online brokerage account. The Snider Method is a unique step-by-step approach to investing that leaves no room for interpretation. Everything is spelled out in the rules.
